Lone Worker and Personal Safety Phone

Employers have legal responsibilities to their staff and to ensure strategies are implemented to provide a safe working environment. A lone worker is defined as an employee who performs an activity that is intended to be carried out in isolation from other workers, without close or direct supervision.

Workers from various sectors can be classed as lone workers eg. Nurses, doctors, post men and women, drivers, security officers, parking attendants, delivery workers, sales personnel, builders, health and care workers, night porters – to name but a few!

The Romad Personal Safety Phone provides a dedicated SOS button which, when pressed, dials through to an Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) via GSM and opens up two way communications with the Operator. At the same time, GPS sends exact location details of the device and provides a map on the Operators screen showing location, time, date and the users profile details. From this, the Operator is then able to speak with the user, ascertain what the situation is, where the user is and what action is required.

Other features of the RSP100:

• Man Down facility:
  Programmed via the handset, the user sets a time period for the RSP100 to alarm and the frequency of the alarm. If that alarm is not accepted by the user, a Man Down alert is sent through to the ARC
• Location Tracking:
  Each RSP100 can be tracked through a secure login page on a dedicated website.
• Pre Alert:
  Location voice recording facility which is time and date stamped and can be played back by the ARC when required
• Battery Low Alert:
  When the on-board battery runs low, an audible alarm is sounded as a warning.
• Mobile Phone Calls:
  The RSP100 can provide for 20 pre-programmed phone numbers to be stored and dialled. These numbers are set and managed through the Administration software which gives excellent management control of employees’ mobile phone costs.
• BS8484:
  Conforms to British Standards 8484 Lone Worker Code Of Practice.
